Service Changes Monday 3rd October 2022

2 years ago Tue 20th Sep 2022

From Monday 3rd October, we are making changes to some of our services. These changes are due to changing travel patterns. We’ve been working hard with our local authority partners to secure our long term network and save services.

Many of the changes are minor with several routes including the 1, 2, 20, 21 & 32 all having tweaks to better serve our customers and improve the punctuality of these services.

The CAT5 service is changed and will divert via the A56 between Thelwall & Lymm to improve journey times and avoid a low bridge. Customers who would catch the bus on Star Lane/Barsbank Lane should go to Booths Hill Road and use the stops at Barsbank Lane or Massey Brook Lane to catch the bus. Between Lymm and Altrincham, the service will now include Partington.

A new X5 service replaces the CAT5A service and operates a faster route between Bank Quay and Grappenhall via Knutsford Road and Latchford. There are faster journey times and Broomedge is connected to Altrincham as the service runs via the A56 fast between Lymm and Altrincham before going via Park Road and Barry Rise to Altrincham Interchange.

The 62/62A service has been saved thanks to Halton Borough Council and is revised to run hourly Monday to Friday between Warrington & Runcorn Bus Station only. Unfortunately the service is withdrawn between Runcorn & Halebank and passengers should our 32 service to travel between Widnes & Warrington and use the more frequent services that cover this section.

Evening services are improved with additional journeys on service 17 to Birchwood and the CAT5 to Stockton Heath, Grappenhall & Lymm.
